Hauling Swinging again !

I scared myself again with a load from Texas to the east coast.

Up until then I had not come into Indianapolis from the west on I-70 and had forgotten how sharp the curve was at the junction of I-70 and I-65 in downtown Indy. I was running with another guy that had a load of lettuce for the market in N.Y. and just wasn't paying attention where I was or what I was doing.

I had stepped over to the left lane to pass a couple of tankers that had just entered the interstate, when I saw the curve and realized where I was and I immediately new I was going to fast [60] for the 45 mile an hour curve. It was a good thing that I was in the left lane as it gave me some extra room to let the truck drift once the truck made all of the shifting moves.

The two eastbound lanes merge with the two northbound lanes of I-65 right after the 45 mph left hand curve, giving me 4 lanes to drift through if no one is in my road on I-65, which there wasn't. I new I couldn't get on the brakes or turn any sharper once I got the truck set in the curve and just had to ride it out. I drifted all the way over until I was almost against the wall on I-65 when everything settled back down, "another seat spring event". The guy following me said that the left rear trailer tandems were clear off the ground  and I new when the trailer finally set in the curve that the front corner was resting on the drive tires. GOD had his hand on my truck that day and I immediately thanked him for keeping me safe.

Keeping the shinny side up and the dirty side down.   10/4
